Is Twitter a good thing for getting informed travellers?

These days I have been suffering delays, disruptions and cancellation in the the now called "Frozen England" with buses, trains, and even flights. One of the flying companies which more cancellations has suffered is Easy Jet is informing its clients through twitter. Some minutes ago, I discovered another Twitter service opened for Gatwick airport, again used to help people affected by problems with their flights.

Visit the twitter sites proposed, read some lines and after that, tell us here your options of your experience after that. Do you think it could be a good help for you in the case you would be waiting for a possible delay, a refund of your flight, etc.?

    Hello!

I think it could be very useful for me to know about a possible delay of my flight through twitter, specially if you are abroad because you can stay updated through your phone, blackberry or even if you travel with your laptop.

I'm used to using twitter to keep up with what my friends from the other side of the Atlantic are doing (I use to say twitter makes the world even smaller ;)And I also follow a few twitter services for some newspapers but I didn't know airports and airlines had theirs too!

So thanks for the post! And I hope you returned safely to your home ;)

    Kind regards,

  2. No, I don't think that twitter would be a good mean to inform travelers, because there are a lot of peoples that don't use twitter, and when you don't get a internet connection, you couldn't be on line to know for possible delays or cancellations... This idea is good for people that always travel with a PC, but imagine that you have not a laptop and you are at the airport, and the only mean to get information is by twitter... No, it isn't possible whether logical...

  3. Yes, it could be true that there are lots of people who don't use use twitter, buy you don't have to take an account opened, just click on the url and that's all ;)

If you have not a laptop in the airport you can always have a look at it before travelling...

Thank you very much for your comment!

    Hi Nati!

I agree with you that there are lots of people who don't have access to Internet at the airport or while travelling.

I just meant it is a good way to keep up with what's going on with your flight but of course it's not the only one ;)

    Best regards,

  7. Hello ! María, I have a google account, I'll try to use it to acces to the blog. Sorry about mistakes, I have studied English for many years, since I was 10 years old, but now I find that it's not so easy than I believed.... Fortunatelly, we have this blog to practise and it's very interesting and also its contents. Hi Rocío, I'm a internet fan and I use it every day, but not when I am travelling, for this reason, I would like to be informed about cancellations in another way.

    Best Regards,

  8. Hi Nati,

Don't worry. All you have to do is using it. Write, write, write, and you'll realize and practice is the only key to learn and improve English.

Great. Thanks you for your opinion!
