  1. Last week, the volcanic ash cloud in Iceland forced to cancel more than 5 thousands flights all aroun Europe and caused an aerial crisis.
The IATA (International Aerial Transport Association)said that now the wastes are, more or less, one hundred eighty five millions Euros. The flight companies said that the economic impact is higher than the terrorist attacks of the 11-S and the major air blockade after the Second World War.
"Iberia" makes easy the change of the tickets without charges to the passengers that they had planned to flight.
The consumer's law said that above all the cancellations due to the volcanic ash cloud, the flight airlines are forced to return the amount of the tickets to the passengers that request it, but they are not forced to indemnifying them.

  2. Thanks Rocio,

Then, do you think that everything has been solved now, once that all the airports are being opened again?

  3. Hello,
I think that the volcanic ash cloud has been a very hard blow to the economies of the airlines companies and by extension to the hotels where the potential customers had a reservation before this story. On the contrary, hotels that were in the proximities of airports have benefited with all the people that had to stay in the city and couldn't fly because of cancellations.

But I think that after this event, the tourism in Island could benefit of the effect post volcano, since many people would be interested to see how the place like after the eruption.
    Best Regards

  4. Hi María,

No, I think that airports are recovering a normal situation, but the aerial crisis has been very higher and a lot of companies (airlines companies, travel agencies, hotels, rent a cars, ...) took long time to recover their economic situation before the volcanic ash cloud.
